Hole fronted by vocalist-rhythm guitarist Courtney Love, who co-founded Hole with former songwriter-lead guitarist Eric Erlandson. Hole achieved considerable commercial success. Their second album, Live Through This, was critically acclaimed and regarded as one of the greatest albums of the 1990s, as well as their most notable work.
The band played its first performance since reforming on February 12, 2010 on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, playing "Samantha". On February 17, 2010 they played a full set at the Shockwave NME Awards at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire. The band is also rumoured to perform at two U.K. festivals this summer, with further UK dates announced for May 2010.
