Howard Marks

Former Drug Smuggler, Author and After-Dinner Speaker

Howard Marks (A.K.A. Mr Nice) is a former teacher, drug smuggler and author who achieved notoriety as an international hashish smuggler through high-profile court cases, supposed connections with groups such as the IRA and the Mafia, and his eventual conviction at the hands of the American Drug Enforcement Agency.

Since his release from prison, Marks has published a best-selling autobiography, Mr Nice, which has been translated into many languages. Along with 'Mr Nice', Howard has also compiled an anthology called The Howard Marks Book of Dope Stories and more recently a follow on from his autobiography; Señor Nice: Straight Life From Wales to South America.

During 1997, he performed his first live shows, which discussed his life as a marijuana smuggler and his views on drug use and legalisation. The shows received excellent reviews throughout the national press, and his now legendary one-man comedy show, An Audience with Mr Nice, continues to sell-out at venues throughout Britain and Europe.
