Best-known for her legendary one-woman shows, Jo Caulfield is one of the most popular comedians on the UK circuit and has recently been nominated as the best female Stand-Up in the country. The Observer calls her “an inspiration to would-be female comics”, while The Times advocates that “Jo Caulfield is the sort of female stand-up who makes you feel better about female stand-up”.
The Scotsman maintains, “She is, quite simply, a damn funny woman”, and Graham Norton confesses, “I never knew I could like a woman so much. I’m ashamed to say she made me wet myself”.
JO is in demand at all the major UK comedy clubs and is a regular performer at The Comedy Store, Jongleurs, Banana Cabaret, Headliners, The Bearcat, Amused Moose, Comedy Camp, The Kings Head, Red Rose, Comedy Café, Comedy At Soho-Ho, Covent Garden Comedy Club and too many more to mention. Recent international performances include comedy festivals and comedy clubs in New York, LA, Berlin, Munich, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Paris, Geneva, Dublin, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong and Singapore.
The 3rd series of JO’s Radio 4 comedy show, “It’s That Jo Caulfield Again”, begins on 5th June 2007.
This will be closely followed by a return to the Edinburgh Festival (August 2nd to 27th) and a third nationwide theatre tour (September 21st to November 30th).
JO’s recent TV appearances include Have I Got News For You (BBC1), Mock The Week (BBC 1), Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC2), The Comic Side Of 7 Days (BBC3), So Last Week (Ch5), The Comedian’s Comedian (Ch4), The Comedy Store (Ch5), The World Stand’s Up (Comedy Central) The Stand-up Show (BBC1) and Stitch-Up (BBC1).
Thanks to her gift-of-the-gab JO is a regular guest on most good radio comedy shows. Twiddle your knob and you'll probably find her on The Unbelievable Truth (R4), The Clive Anderson Show (R2), The Mark Radcliffe Show (R2), Parsons and Naylor’s Pull-Out Section (R2), The Now Show (R4) and The Fred MacCauley Show (Radio Scotland).
Jo is also a highly sought after TV warm-up artist. Shows she works on include: Have I Got News For You, Room 101, Alistair McGowan’s Big Impression, Bremner, Bird and Fortune, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps and So Graham Norton.
