Jools Holland has announced he will bring his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra to Inverness, making his Highlands outdoor debut.
Performing at the Northern Meeting Park, Inverness on Sunday 26th August, Jools Holland and his 20-piece Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, will make the journey north to play to an expected audience of thousands.
The pianist and TV presenter who first shot to fame as a member of Squeeze, aged just 15, will be supported by drumming sensation Gilson Lavis and guest vocalists Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall, at the outdoor show organised by award-winning concert and event promoter CK Events.
Tickets go on sale on Friday 9 December for the show which will include performances of his classic compositions, interpretations and covers.
The undisputed King of boogie-woogie Jools Holland has announced that he has invited UK pop icon Sandie Shaw back out on the road with his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra as guest vocalist for the Autumn / Winter tour.
This exciting announcement follows a hugely successful Spring / Summer tour, for which Shaw has been the special guest for, with reviewers describing her performance as ‘fantastic…in her element’, and “[Shaw’s] genuine excitement and enthusiasm to be on stage was infectious and the crowd took her to their hearts.”
Jools Holland says, “We’ve had such good fun on the summer tour that I asked her to join us for the winter and Sandie delightfully said yes. So along with Sandie Shaw, we also have Ruby Turner, Louise Marshall, Rosie Mae and Rico Rodriguez on vocal duties. A right knees up to keep the party going until the end of the year.”
Chris Difford will also appear at dates from Saturday October 29th – Friday November 17th as well as Royal Albert Hall, Plymouth and Brighton.
Sandie Shaw will appear at all shows from 18th November – 22nd December except Leicester and Plymouth.
With long time guest vocalists Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall along with the inimitable musicianship of the Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, Jools Holland will perform tracks spanning his entire solo career, many of which can be found on his latest album release ‘Finding The Keys: The Best Of Jools Holland’ which was released last month. The album includes unique collaborations with some of the world's most notable singers and musicians including Booker T., Michael McDonald, Alison Moyet, Allen Toussaint and David Sanborn.
